What is “IT’s”

grain“IT’s” is a technologically innovative system for transforming pasta scraps into maltose syrup.

The syrup contains substances having probiotic characteristics and has applications in various fields:

  • Zootechnical, as a dietary supplement able to improve the animal feed nutritive value
  • Agriculture, as nourishment and protection of plants
  • In the industrial fermentation field for the production of antibiotics, organic acids, enzymes, vitamins
  • In the food industry for preserving fruit and vegetables

How the project originated

“IT’s” project is a result of Cusinato' Giovanni S.r.l.'s technological, productive and commercial know-how and Elysia Ricerche's innovative studies.

Since 1964 Cusinato has been developing innovative conveying and storage technologies mainly for the food industry. How to dispose of waste materials has always been an issue common to all food producing companies and not only.

For this reason Cusinato decided to invest on research with the founding of Elysia Ricerche, a company specialized in food biotechnology.

The core of its researches have been:

  • studying systems that reduce the environmental impact of food productions
  • finding solutions to best exploit all waste materials produced by food, agricultural and flour milling industry
